First Responder Training

In appreciation for everything you do as a first responder, we want to help you be equipped with the best tools available at a reasonable price.
Our core training is in “Taijutsu” which translates into “Full Body Method.”  This means you’ll learn all aspects of using your body in a conflict – from how your body language affects the interaction to how to use deploy your natural tools to stay safe and take control of the situation.

Our “Unlimited Training” allows you to take advantage of everything we do –

  • Specialty Workshops
  • Ground Fighting classes
  • Force on Force fight simulation
  • Classical weapons
  • Monthly private lessons.

Quite a bit of training and knowledge at a great price.

How is our martial art different?
At Elements of Self Defense, we know that personal protection is not one size fits all.  As a first responder, you will be put into situations a civilian is unlikely to face as well as a higher level of scrutiny after the fact.
Our core approach to personal protection is de-escalation before a conflict becomes physical.  If it has to become physical we prefer to control our attacker rather than damage them. Through a combination of balance, positioning, and leverage we are able to keep ourselves safe while controlling our would be assailant.

How does our martial art adapt to your needs-
Our martial art is “concept based” so it does not rely on memorizing hundreds of individual techniques that may have minimal differences.  Rather, we learn a set of core principles that can be applied as needed to achieve the desired result.  This allows a broader understanding and a deeper tool set that is easily recalled under stress.
Because we do not expect rote memorization, we can customize the lessons to exactly the situations you will encounter in the line of duty and to the tools you will most often have access to.  Your movements and responses are unique to you and the scenario you find yourself in.
